    "Vanotu" Barbaresco DOCG 2020
  • Barbaresco DOCG Vanotu, by Pelissero, is made with grapes from a vineyard located in the Cascina Vanotu, situated at the intersection of the communes of Treiso, Barbaresco and Neive, an area certainly suited for the production of great wines. We are at an altitude of between 300 and 350 metres above sea level. The soil, of medium texture with a rich limestone component, gives the wine a unique and special character. In the cellar, temperature-controlled fermentation and timed, automatic mechanical punching-down allow the best possible enhancement of the varietal characteristics of Nebbiolo, preserving its freshness and fragrance. Ageing takes place in barriques for about two years and then in bottles for at least another nine months, giving the wine complexity, concentration and soft, enveloping tannins. Vanotu has an intense, broad ruby red colour. On the nose, fruity notes of raspberry and cherry are well harmonised with hints of wood and vanilla. Then hints of rose, sage, mint, thyme and chamomile, representing the true 'trademark' of this soil. In the mouth, the wine stands out for its velvety and enveloping structure, with sweet and persistent tannins. The great structure of Nebbiolo and the right acid-tannic ratio promise long ageing. It is the ideal companion for meat starters, savoury first courses, red meat main courses and game. It also pairs wonderfully with mature cheeses and truffles.

Between the medieval tower of Barbaresco and the castle of Guarene, nestled between the Roero and the gentle hills of the Langhe, lies the Pelissero winery. In the veins of the family runs "langarolo" blood. Their philosophy is based on a perfect combination of tradition and innovation: to harvest in order to sow, that is, to look to the future with respect for the past. Today, Pelissero wines exalt the different varieties typical of the territory, from Barbera to Nebbiolo and Dolcetto. Each grape is cultivated on the terrain most congenial to it, respecting nature and its nuances. The result? It's here to try! An experience not to be missed for all lovers of quality wine.
