It comes from six small vineyard plots located between the communes of Treiso, Barbaresco and Neive, in an area vocated for the production of great wines. We are talking about Pelissero's Barbaresco DOCG Nubiola, the most traditional and classic expression of the family's style. A Barbaresco that combines the complexity and strength of Nebbiolo with an elegance and finesse typical of the great wines of Piedmont. The name Nubiola recalls that of a prized grape described in an ancient treatise on agriculture (today's Nebbiolo) and emphasises this wine's deep bond with the history and tradition of the territory. The Nebbiolo grapes, as mentioned, come from six small plots of land, located at an altitude between 200 and 400 metres above sea level. The soils, of different composition and origin, give the wine a wide range of aromas and flavours. While the good exposure guarantees perfect ripening of the grapes, with the right concentration of sugars and polyphenols. The grapes are harvested by hand and undergo fermentation in steel at a controlled temperature, with periodic mechanical punching-down. Ageing, on the other hand, takes place in wood, as prescribed by the specifications, with a skilful mix of small barrels and large 50-hectolitre oak casks. The duration of this phase varies depending on the vintage, in order to best exalt the wine's characteristics. Nubiola presents itself in the glass with a lively and inviting ruby red colour. The nose is complex and intense, with floral and fruity notes ranging from ripe red fruit to typical spices and herbs. In the mouth, it stands out for its elegant and velvety structure, with soft and well-integrated tannins. The acid component lends freshness and liveliness, while the finish is persistent and harmonious, with a slightly toasted aftertaste. Perfect for enhancing the flavours of Piedmontese cuisine.
Between the medieval tower of Barbaresco and the castle of Guarene, nestled between the Roero and the gentle hills of the Langhe, lies the Pelissero winery. In the family's veins runs 'Langhe' blood. Their philosophy is based on a perfect combination of tradition and innovation: to harvest in order to sow, that is, to look to the future with respect for the past. Today, Pelissero wines exalt the different varieties typical of the territory, from Barbera to Nebbiolo and Dolcetto. Each grape is cultivated on the terrain most congenial to it, respecting nature and its nuances. The result? It's here to try! An experience not to be missed for all lovers of quality wine.
