      Barbaresco DOCG 2020
    • Cantina Produttori del Barbaresco presents this Barbaresco DOCG, simply pleasant and “scholarly” for those who want to discover the world of this Piedmontese red wine. Located in the heart of the Langhe, the municipality of Barbaresco is surrounded by rolling hills. The vineyards of the producers extend between 350 and 500 metres above sea level. These hills have clayey-calcareous soil enriched with sandy veins that offer ideal conditions for the cultivation of Nebbiolo. This vine is known for its ability to fully express the characteristics of the territory, giving life to wines with great structure and longevity. The wine-making process follows traditional methods. Fermentation takes place in steel tanks at a controlled temperature, with maceration on the skins for about 24 days, with pumping over twice a day. After malolactic fermentation, the wine is aged for 20 months in 50-hectolitre oak barrels, acquiring aromatic complexity and structure. It has a brilliant garnet red colour. The nose reveals a complex bouquet with hints of leather, ripe red fruits such as blackcurrant and raspberry, and delicate spicy notes. In the mouth it has a medium body, with flavours of fresh red fruit, spices and a pleasant minerality. The tannins are well integrated, giving it balance and a long finish. This Barbaresco DOCG should be paired with red meat, game and aged cheese. Its elegance and complexity make it ideal for accompanying braised meats, roasts and typical dishes of Piedmontese cuisine.

Produttori del Barbaresco is a wine cooperative founded in 1958 in the heart of the Langhe region of Piedmont, in the municipality of Barbaresco. Today, this organisation has over 50 members who cultivate 120 hectares of vineyards dedicated exclusively to the Nebbiolo grape variety, the only variety permitted by the strict regulations. Each member cultivates their own vineyards with dedication, passing down the skills necessary to obtain high quality grapes from generation to generation. The families bring their harvests to the cooperative winery, where they are turned into wine. The Barbaresco territory is characterised by rolling hills and calcareous-clayey soil, ideal for the cultivation of high quality grapes. The combination of soil, climate and altitude gives the wines an elegant structure and a distinctive aromatic complexity. The winery enhances the different nuances of the territory through the production of Reserves from specific crus, such as Asili, Montefico, Montestefano, Muncagota, Ovello, Pajè, Pora and Rabajà. These wines, produced only in exceptional vintages, offer enthusiasts a unique experience, allowing them to appreciate the peculiarities of each vineyard.
