CHARACTERISTICS
  • Location Friuli-Venezia Giulia
  • Grapes 100% sauvignon
  • Sensations Colour: straw yellow with slight green reflections; full, bright and fresh. Bouquet: intense, typical, elegant and articulate. The wealth of aromas highlights fruit with blackcurrant, passion fruit, white melon; flowers with lantana, elderflower, orange blossom; spices with chilli pepper and ginger; and freshness with lemon grass, oregano, marjoram and mint leaves. The varietal notes of boxwood and tomato leaf combine with light citrus hints of lime and grapefruit. Taste: ample, fresh, rich and balanced. The complexity of the aromas finds excellent correspondence on the palate. Hints of lime and sage blend with an explosion of tropical and ripe fruit. Great freshness, pleasant sapidity and balanced acidity. Long and progressive with mineral hints in the finish, the persistence is remarkable.
  • Vinification The grapes are gently destemmed and left to macerate for a short period. It is then gently pressed and the must obtained is clarified by decanting. The must then ferments at a controlled temperature in stainless steel containers. Ageing: At the end of fermentation the wine is kept on the lees in stainless steel containers for six months. Sauvignon Colli Orientali DOC 2022
  • The origins are French. There is no doubt about that. But Sauvignon has always been linked to Friuli where, since ancient times, it has found an ideal habitat. This version, proposed by Livio Felluga, can without fear of contradiction be considered super-scholastic. Fresh and captivating, it has the unmistakable aromas that every good sommelier associates with this grape variety. Notes of exotic fruit, yellow pepper, tomato leaves, mint and, more generally, a subtle fresh vegetable note. Straw yellow in colour with slight greenish reflections, it stands out in the glass for its beautiful luminous tone. The nose, as mentioned, is super intense but above all typical and elegant. It is in the mouth, however, that it offers the greatest satisfaction. Ample and fresh, it is a wine that is perfectly balanced in all its components. There is a perfect correspondence between nose and palate, where, however, one can also appreciate a great freshness and a pleasant sapidity. Long and very pleasant, the finish is appreciated for its evident mineral hints. The persistence is great, prolonging the pleasure of drinking for several minutes. Always good, it is perfect with vegetable soups or tasty fish dishes.

You can love them, or not. You may be a fan of the great whites of Friuli, or you may not appreciate them fully. But when you read the name Livio Felluga on a bottle, it is certain that the wine you are about to taste deserves our full attention. After all, he, Livio Felluga, has always been considered the great "patriarch" of quality wine production in Friuli. In the 1950s, he founded his winery in Brazzano and, with felicitous intuition, purchased his first vineyards in Rosazzo. Today the company boasts a respectable extension. Hilly land, in the Collio and Colli Orientali del Friuli, for over 160 hectares of property, of which 155 are planted with vines. Its wines, appreciated all over the world, have received the most prestigious prizes and awards over the years.
