    • An unusual rosé. At least by our standards. Unusual because it comes from a region, the Loire, where blends of different grapes are often used, some of them indigenous, that is, typical only of the region. In this case, for example, the rosé offered here by Lacheteau comes from a complex mix of grape varieties. Cabernet Franc and Gamay predominantly, with Pineau d'Aunis and Grolleau being precisely two varieties typical of the Loire Valley, often used in the production of Rose d'Anjou. Vinified in temperature-controlled stainless steel to make the most of the rich varietal starting point, this rosé presents a medium intense color in the glass. Not exactly one of those delicate rosés we are used to tasting from Provence. The nose reveals a rather intense bouquet, with clearly recognizable notes of red fruits. Then floral and delicately sweet. It is, in fact, reminiscent of grenadine, the syrup obtained from pomegranate. In the mouth it is fresh and has good balance, with floral and fruity notes consistent with what was perceived earlier, and a harmonious finish. Great as an aperitif, it is the wine to always keep in the refrigerator in anticipation of a surprise visit from a friend.

Lacheteau is first and foremost a family business, created by André Lacheteau in 1987, based in Anjou. Supported by his wife and son, André has built a dynamic and up-to-date enterprise. And through his dynamism, motivation and passion for the different terroirs of the Loire region, he has built a good international reputation over time. Today Lacheteau can count on about 100 hectares of vineyards covering multiple appellations in the Loiree, the company is part of the Grands Chais de France group.
