    PRODUCTION NOTES
    • Bottled in the production area by Cavit S.C. - Trento - Italy

    • Produced in Italy

      Bottega Vinai Teroldego Rotaliano DOC
    • Defined as the "prince of Trentino wines", Teroldego is probably the oldest quality grape variety produced in the region. Its producers were the first to form a consortium in 1948, and were also the first to obtain recognition of the Controlled Designation of Origin in 1970. CAVIT collects it in the area north of Trento, in the heart of the Rotaliana plain, in the municipality of Mezzolombardo. After harvesting, the grapes undergo a maceration phase that lasts for about 8-10 days, and after fermentation there is a phase of maturation in wood. Part of the wine is put into barriques and part into Slavonian oak barrels. A phase that is not too long, however, and as such does not alter the aromatic framework of the original grapes. The result is a wine of intense ruby red colour, with marked and lively violet edges in its youth. Fruity notes stand out on the nose, with hints of raspberry, blackberry and wild berries. As it matures, however, the bouquet is enriched with new sensations, becoming more ethereal and ample. The mouthfeel reveals a pleasant tannicity and a velvety, enveloping, full-bodied and austere taste.

Cantina Viticoltori Trentini, in other words CAVIT. We are talking about one of the largest Italian wine-making companies. A large cooperative company, founded in 1950 by a small group of winegrowers aware of the potential of their land. Over the years, the success has been overwhelming, so much so that today CAVIT can count on a total of more than 6,300 hectares of vineyards in Trentino, divided among more than 5,200 winegrowers. A colossus, no doubt, but also capable of producing high quality wines. Wines for every day or special bottles to uncork only on special occasions. All this thanks to the 11 associated wineries, distributed throughout Trentino, which allow CAVIT to have the best wines in each area. But also thanks to the collaboration with the Istituto Enologico di San Michele all'Adige with which a viticultural and oenological project was born, destined to give life to prestigious wines. Good wines of the territory, awarded by national and international critics.
