    Cabernet Alto Adige DOC 2023
  • Cabernet is one of the noble varieties cultivated in South Tyrol for more than 100 years. Specifically, Cantina Bolzano produces it using grapes from selected vineyards, resulting in an elegant, fruity, slightly vegetal and spicy wine. In this case, the winery uses both Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc from the vineyards managed by the winery, which are located in the valley floor of Bolzano and the Adige Valley. Here, the grapes reach perfect ripeness between mid to late October, when they are harvested and brought to the winery for processing. Vinification is traditional, with alcoholic and malolactic fermentation carried out in steel. This is followed by an ageing phase in the bottle. The result is a wine characterised by a beautiful dark ruby red colour. On the nose, the aromas are fruity, with clear hints of red and black fruits, such as blackcurrants, blueberries and blackberries. All with a delicate spicy finish. In the mouth, the wine reveals an intense and elegant flavour, with a fine tannic structure. It is the right bottle to uncork at your next dinner with friends, to accompany a menu of red meats, game and mature cheeses.

Cantina Bolzano was founded in 1908, when 30 local winegrowers decided to unite under a common flag. Today, the members cultivate 340 hectares of vineyards between 200 and 1,000 metres above sea level: passion, experience and commitment enable Cantina Bolxano to produce highly successful wines. New and old knowledge is well represented by the headquarters of Cantina Bolxano: a majestic cube clad in bronze-coloured aluminium sheets, with engravings and openings reminiscent of a stylised vine leaf. A beautiful way to tell its story, also from an aesthetic point of view: past and future have common roots, and from these roots come wines of acknowledged quality and disturbing charm.
