    • The Langhe DOC Nebbiolo of Azienda Agricola G.D. Vajra is a pure expression of the Langhe terroir. It is born in Barolo and is distinguished by its purity and elegance. 100% Nebbiolo. An autochthonous Piedmont grape variety, known for its ability to best express the characteristics of the terroir, the one used by the family to produce this wine comes from vineyards that benefit from unique climatic conditions. Harvesting is done manually, selecting only the best bunches. After the harvest, the grapes undergo a 30-day fermentation, followed by malolactic fermentation, which occurs naturally. This helps to stabilise the wine and give it softness. Subsequent ageing takes place for 5 months in steel vats, a method that preserves the freshness and purity of the fruit, before bottling. In the glass, it has a brilliant garnet colour. On the nose, an intense and complex bouquet, with notes of raspberry, cherry and mountain berries, accompanied by delicate hints of rose petals, violets, lavender and mint. The palate is elegant and refined, with flavours of crisp red fruits, orange peel and sweet spices, enriched by earthy and mineral nuances. The finish is long and persistent, with a pleasant freshness that invites another sip. Best drunk young, within 5 years of harvest, it pairs well with red meats and mature cheeses. Excellent with traditional Piedmontese dishes such as braised beef with Barolo, roast lamb and local cheeses.

      The G.D. Vajra winery is a jewel of the Langhe. Located in the hamlet of Vergne in the village of Barolo, founded and run with dedication by the Vajra family, it is an example of how passion, care and expertise can give rise to wines of the highest level. The estate covers 60 hectares, and includes vineyards in all the prestigious crus such as Bricco delle Viole, Costa di Rose and Ravera. Since 2009, Vajra has also managed the vineyards of the Luigi Baudana estate in Serralunga d'Alba, at Ceretta and Baudana. The family adopts a meticulous approach both in the vineyard and in the cellar, enhancing the peculiarities of each cru. Each vineyard is carefully worked and vinification is carried out using techniques that respect and enhance the characteristics of the grapes. This commitment is reflected in wines that are authentic ambassadors of the territory, capable of transmitting to those who taste them all the nuances and richness of the Langhe soils.
