    Chianti Riserva DOCG 2018
  • Astorre Noti is a brand of Vecchia Cantina di Montepulciano that was born from the partnership between the oldest cooperative in Tuscany and Alma Wines. Tradition, modernity and sustainability for wines that represent the excellence of Tuscany. This is an elegant Chianti Riserva DOCG, produced from pure Sangiovese grapes. The most representative vine of the region, in this case, is processed just a few hours after its arrival in the cellar, so as to preserve all its best characteristics. The vinification process begins with a soft pressing, followed by maceration and fermentation. It takes about 15 days for the skins to release all their colour, aromas and most noble tannins. At that point, after racking and malolactic fermentation, a long ageing phase follows. A good 18 months in which the wine rests in Slavonian oak barrels. Then, after bottling, another 6 months of refinement in the cellar precede the definitive release. Ruby red in colour tending towards garnet, this Chianti Riserva reveals a particularly intense bouquet, with notes of morello cherries and blackberries. In the mouth, however, the taste is well balanced, with soft and elegant tannins and a long finish. This is the wine that every good grill enthusiast dreams of having on hand while the embers sizzle merrily under a thick, bone-in steak. Also perfect with game or mature cheeses.

If you come to Montepulciano along the Via Provinciale, it is difficult not to see the outline of the Vecchia Cantina di Montepulciano. It has been there for fifty years, reminding everyone that when things are done with passion, no matter how big or small, the results come. Founded in 1937, it is the oldest cooperative in Tuscany and certainly the largest in the area. Founded on the initiative of fourteen producers, today it counts on the collaboration of about 400 members, united by a great passion and a common objective: to guarantee quality products at an accessible price. Obviously respecting tradition and the environment. They do this in a big way, as they can count on more than 1,000 hectares of vineyards in Tuscany and elsewhere. In the range of their wines, in fact, in addition to various "di Montepulciano", reds and Nobles, there are fine labels representative of other areas, such as Chianti, but also of other regions, such as Umbria.
