    Vino Nobile di Montepulciano DOCG
  • This can only be the true workhorse of the Vecchia Cantina di Montepulciano. A Nobile produced with all due care and attention, starting with only the best grapes brought to the cellar by the members of Tuscany's largest cooperative. Sangiovese practically in purity, this wine is the result of careful vinification. Fermented at a controlled temperature for several days in order to extract as much colour as possible from grapes that are usually shy in this respect, it is then matured in Slavonian oak barrels for no less than 2 years. After all, Sangiovese needs time to smooth out the corners of a gruff Tuscan character and put on the clothes of a nobleman from a good family. In the goblet it is a beautiful bright ruby red colour. On the nose, the bouquet is exactly as one would expect, ample with notes of red fruit and that unmistakable scent of undergrowth that immediately recalls pure Sangiovese. In the mouth it is full and harmonious, with a nice body and a pleasant acidity that balances it. There is a pleasant tannic edge that lingers pleasantly in the mouth, prolonging the pleasure of drinking for whole minutes.
