      Montecucco Sangiovese DOCG
    • Montecucco DOCG, one of the lesser known, but not uninteresting, DOCGs in Tuscany. A Sangiovese-base for this red wine produced from grapes grown in vineyards located in the highest part of the estate, with a beautiful southwest exposure that guarantees sun and warmth for several hours a day. Traditional red wine vinification, followed by a phase of aging in 3,000 liter oak barrels for a period of about 12 months. The result is a beautiful wine characterized by an intense ruby color, with a garnet hue due to the passage in wood. On the nose, it is intense, with notes of red fruit and many well harmonized spices. On the palate, finally, all the sensations experienced previously. Overall, this is an extremely well-balanced wine in all its components, with lovely fine and soft tannins. On the palate and on the nose, after the first sip, the most pleasant sensations of ripe fruit persist for several seconds. It’s hard to resist the temptation to take a new sip after the first one. Then another one and another one...

Podere Montale is a beautiful Tuscan winery that does not boast a hundred years of history. It was born in 2014, but can count on an accurate and interesting project. Born from an idea of Silvio Mendini who dreamed a farm focused on enhancing and preserving the 'biodiversity of the area in which it operates. The objective, in other words, is to create products that harmoniously reflect the land and the plant varieties of which the vineyard is an integral part. For this reason, all the wines offered are produced exclusively with grapes from the company's 18 hectares, cultivated with Sangiovese, of course, but also Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon. All the plots are located near the winery, in Seggiano in the province of Grosseto, ranging between 250 to 450 meters above sea level.
