  • Sensations In the Montessu the sensations and aromas of ripe fruit, myrtle and juniper, typical of the region, stand out. The wine is ruby red in colour with violet reflections. The wine shows aromas of red fruits and Mediterranean herbs. In the mouth, the wine has flavours of dark red fruit, with soft and savoury notes, together with elegant traces of caper, rosemary and black pepper. The finish is persistent and silky.
  • Vinification The grapes are harvested by hand, transferred to the winery and vinified with the skins for a maceration period of 12-15 days at controlled temperatures of 25-28°C. Fermentation is carefully monitored for appropriate parameters and is completed on the lees until malolactic fermentation is complete, during which time pumping over takes place with extreme care. Each grape variety is vinified separately and the wine is transferred to barrels before 15 December. The blend is created in vitrified cement tanks, where the wine rests for about 40 days. "Montessu" Isola dei Nuraghi IGT 2022
  • If the category had already been created, this important red wine could fall into the Supersardo typology, winking at the famous Supertuscans that in recent years have enjoyed great success on the main world markets. After all, this Montessu di Agripunica is the result of a collaboration between the Sardinian winery Santadi and Tenuta San Guido, who certainly know their way around "Super" wines. This red wine, in particular, is the soft, velvety and powerful expression of the Sulcis area in Sardinia. Isola dei Nuraghi IGT, this robust and important red wine comes from a successful blend of different grape varieties. Carignano, in clear predominance, with Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot and Syrah, in small percentages. Grapes from the Narcao and Barrua estates in Santadi, where the soils are stony and composed of sand, clay and limestone. Each grape variety is vinified separately and the different wines are then transferred to barriques. The final blend, on the other hand, is created in vitrified cement tanks, where the wine rests for about 40 days. Ruby red colour with violet reflections, the nose has intense aromas, with clear memories of red fruits and aromatic herbs that recall the Mediterranean. In the mouth Montessu reveals flavours of dark red fruit. Soft and savoury, it has clear hints of caper, rosemary and black pepper. The finish is persistent and silky. A wine to be uncorked on the occasion of important dinners, Montessu goes well with grilled meats, sliced meats or medium and long aged cheeses.

Azienda Agricola Punica was established in 2002 at the behest of some illustrious exponents of the national wine scene. We are talking about Tenuta San Guido, producers of Sassicaia, and Cantina Santadi. The trait d'union between the two important realities was Giacomo Tachis, who by a lucky coincidence was the consultant oenologist of both, and the headquarters of the new winery was established in Santadi, in the heart of Basso Sulcis. The company produces three wines under the Agripunica brand. Three small masterpieces that are now established in international markets, and exported to over 35 countries.
