The Casisano 2017 Rosso di Montalcino opens to bright and tonic aromas of wild cherry and pressed blackberry. The wine's fruit-forward signature is well defined, especially so in this hot and dry vintage. That plush berry brightness makes this wine a natural companion to pasta topped with chunks of smoked bacon and grated pecorino cheese.

  • James Suckling 91

A fresh, fruity red with cherry, chocolate and walnut aromas and flavors. Medium body, light tannins and a juicy finish. Drink now.

  • Wine Enthusiast

Chopped mint and ripe dark-skinned-berry aromas lead the nose. The juicy, savory palate doles out succulent Morello cherry, baking spice and the same minty note found on the nose. Lithe tannins and fresh acidity provide the easygoing framework. It's everything a Rosso di Montalcino should be: easy drinking and delicious. Enjoy through 2022. KERIN O’KEEFE

  • Wine Spectator 88

Pretty cherry fruit defines this open, elegant, firmly structured red. Balanced, leaving a mouthwatering impression. Drink now through 2023.

    Rosso di Montalcino DOC 2022
  • There are days that, without a special occasion, you still feel like treating yourself. These are days when even the wine chosen to accompany the meal must reflect this special attention. These are the cases in which a Rosso di Montalcino turns out to be perfect. Because if the quality is the same as that of its noble brother Brunello, the Rosso has that extra touch of vitality, that carefree youth that makes it easier to approach. The red wine that the Tommasi family offers here belongs to this category. Lively, fresh and easy to drink, it is a perfect everyday wine. Casisano's Rosso di Montalcino comes from younger vines than those used to make the Brunello, planted in 2015. More vigorous plants that still need to be tamed but that have all the potential of those that have been in the ground for years and years. The rest undergoes a shorter ageing of about 8 months in Slavonian oak barrels, followed by at least 6 months in the bottle. The result is a wine characterized by an intense ruby red colour with beautiful transparency. The nose reveals a complex bouquet reminiscent of violet, plum and small red fruits, combined with delicate hints of spice. In the mouth it is dry, with a pleasant balance between tannins and acidity. Fresh and persistent finish.

From Veneto to the whole world. Tommasi is a family business founded in 1902 and today it is run by the fourth generation of the family. A name that is, for many wine lovers, a guarantee of absolute quality. Over the years the company has grown a lot, acquiring vineyards and properties in different parts of Italy. Today the Tommasi Family Estates is a solid business reality, which can count on a total of about 570 hectares of vineyards, divided into five regions. Seven estates between Valpolicella Classica and Puglia, passing through Lombardy, Tuscany and now even Basilicata. Unlike other entrepreneurial realities that, as they have grown, have gradually lost their taste for quality research and their passion for the territory, at Tommasi these values have remained central. A great company awarded by international critics and present with its products in dozens of markets, which has been able to maintain a family spirit.
