Certified organic, this Etna Bianco DOC from Cantina TerraCostantino is the result of processing the best grapes harvested in the company's vineyards in Contrada Blandano and Contrada Cannarozzo in Viagrande, on the south-eastern slope of Etna. We are at an altitude of about 450-550 metres, with a beautiful view of the Mediterranean Sea and the coasts of Calabria. The positioning of the vineyards is such as to guarantee a beneficial temperature range between day and night, which favours the prolongation of the ripening period and the appearance of a rich aromatic heritage. The basic grapes are Carricante in clear majority, with Catarratto and a small percentage of Minella. These grapes are perfectly acclimatised to this area and reach maturity in the last ten days of September. The vineyard has an average age of about 20 years and the plants have roots that go deep into the heart of the earth, drawing the nourishment they need. Vinification is super easy, in stainless steel, after which it is refined for a few months in the bottle before being put on the market. Straw yellow in colour, the nose reveals a broad, fresh and fragrant bouquet. On the palate, however, it is especially striking for its great balance and fresh minerality. Good persistence, it is the right wine to accompany a dinner with friends, from aperitif to the end of the meal, planning the next holidays. In Sicily, of course.
We are in one of the most interesting corners of enological Sicily. Both the cellar and the barrel cellar do not require artificial cooling systems. The soil they are in contact with maintains a constant temperature of 15° and ensures natural ventilation.
