"Ala Blanca" Vermentino di Sardegna DOC 2023
    • Just the word Sardinia is enough to feel a little bit on holiday already. From the sunny island in the centre of the Mediterranean comes this Ala Blanca, Vermentino di Sardegna DOC, a white wine balanced between freshness, minerality and vivacity. It is offered here by Poderi Parpinello, a family-run winery known for its dedication to quality. The Vermentino grapes come from the company's vineyards in Alghero, in the north-west of Sardinia. An area characterised by a warm and sunny climate, with strong Mistral winds that favour optimal ripening of the grapes. The soils are sandy and calcareous, rich in minerals and give the wine unique characteristics. A pure Vermentino, the harvest takes place between the end of August and the beginning of September. Vinification begins with destemming and soft pressing. Fermentation takes place in stainless steel at a controlled temperature to preserve the freshness and vivacity of the initial fruit. This is followed by an ageing period of 6 months in stainless steel, which allows the wine to mature and develop greater complexity. Brilliant straw yellow in colour with greenish highlights, the nose is intense and fragrant, with aromas of yellow fruits, such as peach and pear, combined with delicate citrus notes, such as lime and citron. Then mineral nuances that give the wine a fresh and refined character. In the mouth, it conquers with its freshness and minerality. Medium structure and a pleasant, harmonious sip. A wine that impresses with its simplicity and elegance. An aperitif par excellence, it goes well with fish dishes, fresh cheeses and grilled vegetables.

Poderi Parpinello, a Sardinian winery, was born from the passion and experience of the Parpinello family, dedicated to wine production for over sixty years. We are located between Alghero and Sassari, where the winery boasts 35 hectares of vineyards spread over three different locations: 7 hectares by the sea near Castelsardo, 15 near the coast near Lake Baratz, and 13 in Janna de Mare, where the production cellar is also located. The company cultivates both native vines typical of the area, such as Cannonau, Vermentino, Monica, Cagnulari and Torbato, and international vines such as Sauvignon, Chardonnay, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon. This choice makes it possible to offer a wide and varied range of wines, capable of satisfying the most demanding palates. In the winery, Poderi Parpinello is distinguished by a production approach that combines tradition and innovation. The company uses the most modern oenological technologies, while respecting local traditions and the territory. Giampaolo Parpinello, president and founder of Poderi, represents the soul of the company. Always dedicated to wine production and the care of the vines, he has dedicated his life to this craft, passing on his passion and knowledge to his children. Today, Giampaolo devotes special attention to the vineyards and grapes.
