Rintocco Rosso from the Monserrato 1973 estate is a Beneventano IGT, made from an unusual blend of Aglianico grapes, 70 percent, and Barbera, the remainder. Aglianico is certainly the most traditional of the Campania grape varieties, present on the Monserrato estate since 1998. Barbera, in this case "del Sannio," on the other hand, was introduced only recently. The idea was precisely to give lightness and softness to the austere character of Aglianico. Rintocco presents itself in the glass of a beautiful bright ruby red color with violet hues. On the nose hints of morello cherry, raspberry and licorice. Then violet and a touch of citrus. In the mouth it is appreciated for its soft tannic texture and nice structure. Endowed with a nice fragrant and sincere character, on the table it goes well with many different dishes. Excellent with cured meats and medium-aged cheeses, it certainly also does not disdain a pairing with classic grilled meat.
