    • Vinearei, Nizza DOCG, is one of the labels belonging to the Marchesi di Barolo's Historical Cru line. Wines that are representative of their terroir, the result of super accurate vinification of grapes from particularly suitable vineyards. In this case, the grapes, harvested by hand in mid-September, arrive at the winery and are immediately destemmed and crushed. Fermentation takes place in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks, and maceration of the skins, which is necessary to obtain the extraction of tannins and colour, as well as aromatic substances, lasts about 8 days. After this phase, the wine undergoes some racking in order to clarify and prepare for the ageing phase in wood. The delicate maturing phase takes place partly in French oak barriques, and partly in Slavonian oak barrels. The waiting period, in total, lasts for at least 18 months. Before sale, the wine then completes its ageing in the bottle for a period of at least 4 to 6 months. Vinearei is a wine of great structure and taste impact. The colour is an intense purple red with violet reflections. The nose is complex, with notes of plums and berries. A pleasant finish reminiscent of pastries completes the picture. In the mouth the wine is full and enveloping. The large alcohol structure is well supported by a balanced acidity. This is why it goes well with typical Langhe hors d'oeuvres, such as vitello tonnato and vegetable flan. But also meats, boiled or roasted, tome and moderately mature hard cheeses.

he Barolo, understood as the extraordinary wine that the whole world envies us, was born just a few metres from the company headquarters. The historic cellars of the Marchesi di Barolo, in fact, are located right in the centre of Barolo, just a few steps away from the castle that was the home of the last Marchesi Falletti, the first ever to produce the noble red wine of Kings. The Abbona family, the current owners of Marchesi di Barolo, ideally continue the work begun by the Fallettis, acting as faithful interpreters of the traditional vines and their places. Never as in this case does the saying 'combining tradition and innovation' apply. The company works with the main vines of the Langhe, Roero and Monferrato, vinifying the most prestigious crus in purity, refining them and proposing them individually, to better exalt their different expressions. Knowledge of and respect for the different grape varieties and individual terroirs, combined with vinification that enhances their strengths. All this is Marchesi di Barolo.
