We are located in the heart of Sannio, the ancient land of the Samnites, in the province of Benevento. Here the countryside is divided between centuries-old vineyards and olive groves, from which some of the most prestigious wines of the Campania region come. These wines are often the result of the pure processing of typical local grape varieties, such as Greco, a very ancient white grape variety, whose introduction into southern Italy is said to date back to the Greek colonisation of the 8th century BC. From Calabria, the grape was subsequently introduced throughout Italy thanks to the Roman conquests, giving rise to numerous grape varieties. La Fortezza, a winery in Torrecuso, offers it here in a very interesting version. Made purely from grapes, this local white wine is characterised by a golden yellow colour and a complex aroma of ripe fruit, candied fruit and honey. In the mouth, however, you discover a wine characterised by a smooth and well-structured flavour. Excellent with fish, seafood and shellfish dishes, this Greco from Campania is not afraid of a combination with white meats.
