Presented in a handsome, ribbed bottle, the Falanghina del Sannio Serrocielo reveals deep inner freshness and minerality, all wrapped into one citrus and peach-driven white wine. Serrocielo shows great intensity, balance and a superbly easy-drinking style, with winemaking executed only in stainless steel to lock in those primary aromas.
Very tight and solid falanghina with sliced pear, lemon and some green apple. Hints of honeydew melon. Medium to full body with lovely tightness of fruit and a flavorful finish. Great, pointed acidity provides energy and focus. Drink now.
Fresh and savory, this opens with heady aromas evoking honeysuckle and tropical fruit. Reflecting the nose, the rounded medium-bodied palate offers banana, green melon and lemon drop set against crisp acidity. KERIN O’KEEFE
Serrocielo stands out at a glance. Because, like all Feudi di San Gregorio selections, it comes in a bottle with a very modern design, and because its minimal, stylish label is bright blue. The blue, we like to believe, of the Neapolitan sky during its long, hot summers. It is made from pure Falanghina, from some of the company's 800 identified cru. Vinification in stainless steel and about 6 months on its lees with repeated and frequent batonnage, make this white pleasantly fat and complex. Pale straw yellow colour with bright green reflections to emphasize the youthful nature of this wine, the nose is an explosion of small white flowers and fruit. It is the right wine to satisfactorily accompany the great classics of seafood cuisine. From clam sauté and shrimp salad to stuffed mussels and spaghetti with shellfish.
There is a subtle fil-rouge that unites everything that has been done at Feudi di San Gregorio since its inception in 1986. It is the desire to make the most of the priceless heritage of indigenous grape varieties of Campania tradition. Starting with Greco, Fiano and Aglianico, the true regional flag bearers. Today the company can count on a total of 300 hectares of vineyards, divided into over 800 plots that differ in altitude, exposure and slopes. A marvellous natural puzzle that perfectly expresses the biodiversity of the territory and is able to give life to extraordinary cru. It is currently one of the leading wineries in Southern Italy, with exports covering more than 50 countries worldwide. The experience gained over the years has therefore led the Capaldo family, who have always been the mind and soul of the company, to decide to explore the winemaking potential of other regions of Italy. This is how the "Tenute Capaldo" project was born, which includes a complex of wineries ranging from DUBL, also from Campania, to Campo alle Comete in Tuscany, passing through Basilisco, an organic winery in Vulture, Ognissole, a biodynamic winery in Puglia, Sirch, in the Colli Orientali del Friuli, and finally FedeGraziani, a small jewel on the slopes of Etna. They all share the same values: to produce wines of excellent quality while respecting their territory.
