    Falanghina del Sannio DOC Taburno
  • The Falanghina del Sannio DOC denomination, with the indication of the Taburno subzone, represents one of the most important wine growing areas in the Campania region. Falanghina, after all, is one of the iconic vines of the region, capable of giving life to very pleasant wines and so versatile that it can be vinified in many different ways. In this case, La Fortezza chose a rather simple processing style, perfect to give value to the starting fruit. Harvested by hand, quickly brought to the winery and vinified in steel at a controlled temperature. The result is simple but not ordinary. In the glass, it has a beautiful straw yellow color with greenish reflections. The aroma is dominated by hints of fresh fruit. In particular those of citrus and white flowers. From the very first taste, then, what strikes is its wonderful freshness. A wine with a nice natural acidity that integrates perfectly with all the other elements. Medium body and a wide range of flavors. A really pleasant wine, as an aperitif but also to go with a nice lunch with friends.

    Never as in this case, the link with the land is so tangible. It is that particular relationship that binds entrepreneur Enzo Rillo with his land, the Sannio. It is here, in fact, that he chose to give life to his farm, La Fortezza, in the heart of Taburno. Founded with the goal of enhancing the good things of its land, since the beginning it focused on typical wines, such as Aglianico del Taburno DOCG, Falanghina del Sannio, Greco, Fiano and Piedirosso. Aglianico, in particular, proves to be an extremely versatile grape and is also used to produce a pure rosé. The latest foray, in chronological order, is into the world of bubbles. Today, in fact, La Fortezza flanks its traditional line of wines with an interesting range of sparkling wines, Charmat and classic method, based on Falanghina.
