  • Vinification Grape harvest from 10 to 25 September. Soft pressing of the whole grapes with immediate separation of the skins. Static decantation at low temperature. Alcoholic fermentation carried out at a controlled temperature of less than 18 degrees C to keep the aromas unaltered. Part of the must is fermented in barriques in order to enhance the varietal characteristics. Bottling from the month of March following the harvest. Ageing 2 months in bottle.

  • 100% Grechetto dell'Umbria. There is nothing else in this Nuricante proposed by Duca dell' Corgna. Only the best Grechetto grapes and lots and lots of passion for their territory. After all, when you talk about white wines in Umbria, you cannot ignore the fruits of this vine that grows generously on the shores of Lake Trasimeno. An extremely versatile grape, it lends itself well to various processes, giving life to wines with an unmistakable style. In this case, the choice of the producer is not to cover up the goodness of the variety, enhancing it, on the contrary, with a simple and direct processing that does not involve the use of wood. The result is a wine characterized by a beautiful pale straw yellow colour, with intense aromas reminiscent of fresh fruit and wild flowers. In the mouth it reveals a good body and a decidedly fruity flavour, consistent with what was previously perceived in the nose. Overall, this is an elegant and harmonious wine in all its components. An excellent glass to drink throughout a meal, from aperitifs to fish or white meat main courses. Hardly any residue left in the bottle at the end of the meal. It is best to make sure you always have a second one ready in the fridge. You never know.

    Located in the heart of Etruscan Umbria, Cantina del Trasimeno is a beautiful cooperative that was founded thanks to the commitment of the winegrowers of the municipalities that overlook the shores of Lake Trasimeno, and is today one of the most important Umbrian realities. In addition to the classic traditional grape varieties such as Grechetto, Trebbiano and Sangiovese, the winery also successfully works with different international varieties. In particular, for years it has been the protagonist of a study aimed at enhancing the Gamay, also known here as Gamay Perugino or Trasimeno Gamay. Over the years the structure of the Cantina del Trasimeno has grown very large, reaching the point of vinifying almost 12,000 tons of grapes in the early 1980s. So, after an inevitable downsizing phase, linked to the progressive ageing of the vineyards, the winery has literally changed gears, focusing no longer on quantity but especially on the production of high quality wines. Work has thus begun on the renovation of the vineyards and winemaking facilities. The Duca della Corgna line was created with this in mind, taking its name from the Duchy of Castiglione del Lago and its founder, Marquis Ascanio dell' Corgna. Today the winery can count on about 200 members who work with passion on a total area of about 300 hectares of vineyards.
