    Chenin Sec Anjou
  • The one proposed here by Domaine Dhommé is a fine example of the still white wines produced on the banks of the Loire. We are talking about an Anjou Sec, from 100% Chenin Blanc grapes, known for its versatility and ability to express the characteristics of the terroir in which it is grown. Domaine Dhommé's production philosophy is based on safeguarding the environment and health. Sensitivity that is manifested in the choice to work under organic farming methods. The soils on which the vines grow are of clay-limestone and quartz origin with a layer of brown shale in the immediate subsoil. After fermentation in stainless steel, the wine undergoes an 'earth' filtration, using a fossil conglomerate of fine-shelled unicellular algae, finely ground like flour. It is then refined in steel for three months before bottling. In the glass, the wine has a brilliant greenish-yellow colour and the nose perceives mainly hints of white flowers. The palate reveals a well-balanced white with a light citrus finish. Thanks to its freshness and lightness, this Chenin Blanc is excellent as an aperitif. But it is also the ideal companion for shellfish and fish dishes.

Building on the experience of four generations of the family, Domaine Dhommé is located in the heart of the Anjou region. Today, it is led by Clarisse Dhommé. The cellar was built right in the heart of the vineyard, which extends over some 25 hectares, designed and adapted to reconcile current and traditional techniques with the functional, qualitative and aesthetic criteria of the artisanal character. The soils on which the vineyards stand are of clay-limestone origin, with quartz and layers of brown shale in the immediate subsoil. Convinced supporters of the protection of the environment and health, at the end of the 2000s, the owners decided to convert agricultural dynamics by investing in organic production, obtaining the relevant certification in 2011.
