Bisanzio, Montepulciano DOP labelled Codice Citra, is a fine example of the potential of Montepulciano. A vine rich in character, perfect for creating wines destined for long ageing, but which is also capable of expressing itself at its best in products, such as this one, created to be enjoyed from a young age. Vinification is traditional, with a long maceration of the skins at a controlled temperature. Refinement takes place in special stainless steel tanks, the must comes into contact with the marc through daily pumping over to ensure the extraction of colour and aromatic precursors is passed into wooden barrels capable of enhancing its organoleptic characteristics. Intense ruby red in colour, the nose presents an elegant bouquet in which hints of black cherry and wild berries combine with notes of black pepper, cocoa and balsamic aromas. In the mouth it reveals itself to be a full, harmonious wine, with fine tannin, typical for the Montepulciano grape variety. Long and pleasant is the finish.
