  • Sicomoro is the Morellino Riserva is offered by the Cantina Cooperativa dei Vignaioli del Morellino. Pure Sangiovese, from the best vineyards in the region, and harvested when the grapes are perfectly ripe, that is, when they have already reached the right color and the skins are ready to give the wine their best aromas. After harvesting, the grapes are quickly brought to the winery to begin processing. It begins with a phase of maceration of the skins, at about 35ltC for 12 hours, followed by fermentation, always at controlled temperature. In total, the process takes over 12 days. This is followed by the so-called malolactic fermentation, which occurs naturally a few days after racking, and refinement in the cellar. The result is a wine characterized by a beautifully intense ruby red color. On the nose, sweet spicy and fruity notes of morello cherry, berries, cinnamon and vanilla. On the palate it is full and dry. Naturally endowed with powerful but elegant tannins, well balanced by alcoholic warmth and softness.
