Mendoza, the productive soul of Argentina. It is from this region that some of the most famous South American wines come. A unique environment that, in some cases, turns out to be almost extreme. As in the case of the picturesque Valle de Uco, where the vineyards reach an altitude of over 1,000 metres. Here, the Callejón del Crimen winery, for example, harvests its best Malbec, the one destined for this Reserva. Matured in French oak barrels, it is a red with a strong personality. In the glass it has a beautiful ruby red colour, with delicate purple reflections. The nose is striking for the pleasantness of its aromas, with notes of small red berries, cherries and blackberries, followed by hints of black pepper and dark chocolate. In the mouth it reveals a good body, pleasantly tannic, guaranteeing several seconds of pleasure after each sip, thanks to its long, indeed very long, persistence. If the evening involves grilled red meats, this is the wine that should definitely be kept on hand. Try it, in particular, with a tasty Angus tagliata. Argentinian, of course.
