    Las Moras Paz Malbec
  • Among the iconic grape varieties of Argentina there is the Malbec. A generous grape capable of producing wines of great character. Wines that lend themselves to being enjoyed young, when they are full of incredible vitality, but that also do not mind more involved processes, with long aging in barrels. As in this case. Paz, meaning Peace, Malbec. This is a Riserva wine that undergoes a long aging of over 15 months in American oak barrels that bestow to the wine complexity and sweet hints that are reminiscent of vanilla. In the glass it has a beautiful red color with evident violet hues. A deep, impenetrable color, with bright reflections that highlight its fruity character and great aromatic complexity. On the nose, it stands out for its excellent balance between fruit and wood, with hints of ripe plum, roasted coffee and chocolate. Good structure and delicate tannins.

The location is Argentina. The homeland of excellent wines that, finally, are beginning to cross the borders of their country to receive the right and deserved recognition from international critics. Finca Las Moras is a fine example. One of the first wineries in the province of San Juan to believe in its possibilities and invest in the production of high-end wines. The one who believed in it most of all was the owner at the time, Richard Smart, who, starting in 1993, invested time and resources in what at the time seemed like an unfeasible project. An interesting note: the name of the winery originates from the numerous blackberry plants present in the company's vineyards and that represent the very spirit of the company's wines. Fruit, at its finest.
