Located in the foothills of the Andes, the Mendoza region is far from the oceans, so only the altitude can offer microclimates with the low temperatures necessary for the production of great wines. In this semi-desert climate, the modest rainfall is compensated by the pure water coming from the melting of the Andean snows, routed in a network of canals that date back to the 19th century. Thanks to the high altitude climate and rocky terrain, the grapes have vivid and intense flavours. Terrazas' approach is based on a deep knowledge of the terroir, which has led to the cultivation of vineyards at different levels of altitude, with unique microclimates for each type of grape. Terrazas de los Andes takes its name from the "Terrazas", the rugged terraced plateaus of the Andes. The estate has more than 500 hectares in ten vineyards in various locations in the Mendoza region, within two distinct areas - Luján de Cuyo and the Uco Valley - as well as winemaking with grapes from the northwest region of Salta.
