  • Montepulciano 60% and Cesanese for the rest. These are the two secret ingredients of this fascinating Roma DOC proposed by Federici. A wine that comes from a particular process. It starts with a long, very long, maceration of the skins that allows you to extract everything possible from the grapes. Then the refinement. For over seven months the wine is left to rest in contact with its lees to give an added dimension to the final result. All this, however, using only steel containers so as not to distort all the goodness of the original fruit. The result is a wine characterized by an intense ruby red colour. The nose is of ripe red and black fruit, almost jammy. Then spicy notes of pepper, licorice and cinchona. In the mouth it is warm and satisfying. Tannic enough, it can count on a perfect balance of all its components. To really put it at ease, it should be paired with strong flavored meats.

    Lights, camera, action! This is the story of the Federici family and their love for the land of Zagarolo. We are a few kilometers from Rome, in the heart of the famous Castelli Romani. Zagarolo is located on a tuff hill. Wine has been produced here for thousands of years and it was here that Antonio Federici, in the 1960s, decided to set up his family business. Since then three generations have followed and many things have changed. 2001, just to mark a time on the calendar, is the year of the turning point. Since then, in addition to producing, the Federici family decided they wanted to have full control over the vineyards as well. To be sure that the desired quality would be brought to the cellar, without compromise. Starting with the typical vines of the territory: Trebbiano, Malvasia del Lazio, Malvasia di Candia and Grechetto. Then there are also vineyards of Merlot, Montepulciano, Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon and Sangiovese. Franco Bernabei is the consultant oenologist of the company, who signs off on the wines and is a guarantee of constant quality over time.
