Fresh and dry with lots of lemon zest and pith character on the nose, turning to lemon cream on the palate with a pleasant, lively fizz. Lovely. Enjoy now.
The grapes of A3, Prosecco Asolo DOCG Extra Brut proposed here by La Tordera, come from a particularly ventilated vineyard, where the soil is rich in minerals and is particularly suitable for making structured wines. The harvest is carried out by hand and the processing is inspired by the company's green philosophy. A3, in fact, has 50% less sulphites than a traditional wine. The number 3, on the other hand, refers to the grams of residual sugar in the finished wine, making it an Extra Brut with a strong personality and extremely pleasant. Brilliant straw yellow in colour, it reveals a particularly fine perlage in the glass, with persistent bubbles. On the nose it is appreciated for its delicate notes of white flowers, such as acacia, while in the mouth it is characterised by its interesting balance between freshness, typical of the Glera grape, and its particularly dry finish. Simply perfect as an aperitif, this sparkling wine is also ideal with fish dishes, such as a typical grilled fish or a tasty mixed fry.
La Tordera is a family-run winery in the hills of Valdobbiadene. Today it is run by three siblings, Renato, Gabriella and Paolo Vettoretti, supported by their parents Pietro and Mirella. The company, however, dates back to the early 1900s, when great-grandfather Bepi, back in 1918, planted the first vines and began personally tending the vineyard. In 2018 this important anniversary was celebrated: "100 years of Vines and Life". The name "La Tordera" comes from the name of a gentle hill in the Cartizze area. This hill once housed a roccolo, commonly called Tordera, where, in the autumn season, thrushes would descend from the nearby mountains in search of food among the rows of vines. Always attentive to innovation, La Tordera has never forgotten the link with the land and its traditions. Today the farm seeks an increasingly green viticulture in harmony with the environment.
