A fruity, tangy dolcetto with dried raspberries and hints of cedar. It’s medium-bodied, fruity and bright with a creamy texture. Serious dolcetto, not just for quaffing. Drink now.

Violet, blackberry and blueberry aromas and flavors mark this supple, fluid red. The tannins are pretty much resolved and the vibrant acidity carries the long finish. Drink now through 2025

      "Vilot" Dolcetto d'Alba DOC 2023
    • If the famous Barturot was the first wine produced by Beppe Caviola, the Dolcetto d'Alba Vilot represents his younger brother, certainly not his inferior one. Produced for the first time in 1996, this Dolcetto represents, in the company's philosophy, an everyday wine. The good bottle capable of giving great satisfaction on a thousand different occasions. Produced in about 20 thousand units, this Dolcetto comes from a careful vinification of grapes from different vineyards in Montelupo Albese. Matured in steel and bottled without prior filtration, this Dolcetto is a deep ruby red colour in the glass. The nose immediately reveals its fresh and youthful character. There are fruity notes reminiscent of red and black fruits and in particular ripe blackberries. In the mouth it is agile, very smooth and well balanced. A sparkling wine, simple but not boring. A nice glass suitable for all palates that has only one flaw: it always finishes too soon. The classic wine of which one should always keep a small supply on hand.

This is the story of a dream come true. A dream that has its origins in the beautiful hills of the Langa, where Beppe Caviola, a budding young winemaker, began his small wine production in the 1980s. We're in Montelupo Albese. Here Beppe, together with his friend Maurizio Anselmo, rents his first vineyard, Barturot, and, like a local Steve Jobs, uses his parents' garage to create his first wine. Clearly, little more than an experiment, but already capable of attracting the attention of a great figure in the world of wine such as Elio Altare who sensed the potential of that young winemaker and encouraged Beppe to bottle his product. Thus, in 1991, the first Ca' Viola label was created. It's going to be a long ride from there on out. A continuous expansion and experimentation. In 2002 Beppe, with his wife Simonetta, moved the winery to Dogliani and here, at Villa Bracco, a modern centre was established in which production, consultancy and tourist reception coexist in harmony. So much has been achieved since the small family garage. But Beppe Caviola doesn't seem to be looking back. Rather, his gaze is always on the future and the next challenges to be faced.
