Think of Piedmont, and in particular the Roero region, and you necessarily imagine elegant Nebbiolo-based wines, perhaps matured for a long time in wooden barrels of various capacities. The Roero, however, is also (and for some, above all) a land of fabulous white wines, the result of the processing of a grape variety, Arneis, which is perfectly adapted to these parts. A fine example of this is the Arneis DOCG produced by Aresca, the result of a careful vinification process that starts with the soft pressing of the best grapes delivered to the winery. The must thus obtained is quickly sent to the fermentation phase at controlled temperature, inside steel tanks, at the end of which, after the usual clarification operations, it is left for the following maturation phase. It takes at least 4 or 5 months to reach the right degree of refinement and discover a beautiful wine characterised by a brilliant straw yellow colour. The nose enchants with its notes of pear, peach and apricot, while the taste is fruity and full. Well supported by a good alcohol content, this Roero Arneis amazes with its savoury and complex finish. Excellent as an aperitif, this interesting local white wine is a good accompaniment to delicate fish dishes. Excellent, for example, with a tasty pasta allo scoglio, in white or even in red.
Aresca, wine producers since 1952. We are located in the Mombercelli area, in the territory between Monferrato and Langhe. The history of this winery began thanks to the commitment and work of two brothers, Luigi and Piero, who were able to transform their passion into a family business that has been producing excellent local wines for three generations now. Today, 70 years later, Aresca is a modern and competitive winery, with continuously expanding vineyards and a good presence of its wines on Italian and foreign markets. The secret is soon revealed. As well as investing in innovation, over the years Aresca has built up a close network of winemakers with whom it has established a relationship of mutual esteem and trust. These winegrowers share with the family business a common production philosophy, aimed at achieving the highest quality. All the vineyards are included in the Langhe-Roero and Monferrato wine district, a unique territory recognised by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site.
