BEL COLLE VERDUNO Fraz. Castagni 56 – 12060 Verduno CN
The label of Belcolle's Langhe DOC Nascetta depicts a stylised bunch of grapes, symbolising the simplicity and elegance of this wine. A tribute to the territory and tradition, which makes this unique and precious white even more special. An authentic surprise for wine lovers. Nascetta is a semi-aromatic grape variety that has only recently been rediscovered and has gained a place of honour in the Piedmontese wine scene thanks to its unique characteristics and great potential. Historical research has brought to light the long history of Nascetta, already known and appreciated in the 19th century for its goodness and delicacy. In this case, the grapes come from vineyards located in the Langhe, on soils rich in limestone and marl. Here the climate is cool and ventilated and favours a balanced and aromatic ripening. Vinification follows a careful protocol that respects the grapes and begins with maceration on the skins at a low temperature for 24 hours to enhance the varietal aromas and flavours. Fermentation takes place in temperature-controlled steel tanks to preserve the wine's freshness and delicacy. This is followed by an ageing period of 3 months in oak barrels to give complexity and structure. The nose offers a deep and rich bouquet, characterised by fruity aromas of white peach, citrus and green apple. To these are added floral notes of hawthorn and broom, mineral hints and delicate spicy notes. On the palate, however, it is fresh and vibrant, with a pleasant acidity that makes it balanced and easy to drink. The structure is well supported and the finish is persistent, with a long, mineral aftertaste. It goes well with fresh hors d'oeuvres, light first courses, fish and shellfish, fresh cheeses and grilled vegetables.
A winery of excellence in the Langhe. We are talking about the Bel Colle winery, founded in the 1990s in Verduno, in the Langhe, thanks to the intuition of an enlightened oenologist, Paolo Torchio. Thanks to his far-sightedness, today the winery has become one of the most important realities in the area, with a focus on native grape varieties and a production philosophy that aims at elegance and finesse. Since 2015, the winery has been owned by the Bosio family, which has relaunched the purchase and arrangement of the vineyards, focusing on the highest quality expressions of the territory. Luca Bosio, the new generation of the family, represents the courage to take new paths and expand the vineyards. Mario Albrito, on the other hand, is the historical memory of the winery, a Langhe wine veteran with over 40 years of experience. Bel Colle is committed to sustainable viticulture and winemaking that respects differences. The parcelling out of the vineyards makes it possible to obtain labels that are increasingly representative of the link between the Langhe and its wines. Today, the winery can count on 10 hectares of vineyards between Verduno, the hills of the Langhe and the Asti region, which includes some of the most prestigious crus.
