It is characterised by floral notes of roses, officinal herbs and hints of fruit preserved in alcohol. Spicy notes typical of the Nebbiolo variety complete the olfactory picture. Taste: Full, warm and persuasive, with abundant, fine and sweet tannins. Elegant and very persistent. Long, dry finish typical of the Nebbiolo vine.
    • Vinification Harvesting is carried out by waiting for the grapes to slightly over-ripen around the third ten days of October. The grapes are harvested by hand and after an initial sorting are placed in perforated boxes. The grapes are destemmed, gently crushed and the must is placed in fermentation tanks. Maceration is conducted at controlled temperatures. Vinification takes place entirely in stainless steel with the aid of frequent punching-down and pumping-over. Maceration is conducted for approximately 12-15 days, followed by very soft pressing and the wine is placed in steel tanks to finish alcoholic fermentation and malolactic fermentation. The wine is then racked into large oak barrels for ageing for 34-36 months. After this period, the wine is bottled during the summer months without any filtration treatment. Once bottled, the wine matures in glass for at least 14-16 months before being marketed.

    • Ada Nada's Barbaresco DOCG Rombone Riserva Cichin is a wine of great elegance and intensity. It is born on the hills of Treiso, one of the most vocated areas of the Langhe for the cultivation of Nebbiolo. This wine comes from the Rombone sub-zone, famous for its soils of white calcareous marl of marine origin. This soil composition, combined with southern exposure at an altitude between 200 and 350 metres above sea level, create ideal conditions for optimal ripening of the grapes, guaranteeing wines with structure and great longevity. Nebbiolo, the sole protagonist of this Barbaresco Riserva, benefits from these pedoclimatic characteristics, expressing in the glass all the aromatic richness and complexity of the terroir. Cichin best represents the philosophy of the Nada family, which is dedicated with passion and respect to the oenological tradition of the territory. The grapes are harvested by hand towards the end of October, waiting for slight over-ripening to maximise concentration and structure. After an initial selection, the bunches are destemmed and gently crushed, and the must is placed in stainless steel tanks for fermentation. Maceration, at a controlled temperature, lasts about 12-15 days, during which frequent punching-down and pumping-over is carried out to favour the extraction of aromatic components and tannins. Once alcoholic fermentation is complete, the wine undergoes malolactic fermentation and is racked into large oak barrels for a long ageing period of 34-36 months. Bottling takes place without filtration, followed by a further resting period of at least 14-16 months in the bottle before release. In the glass, it has an intense carmine red colour, evolving towards garnet shades with age. On the nose, the bouquet is broad and fascinating, with notes of roses, officinal herbs and fruit under spirits, enriched by spicy hints typical of Nebbiolo. In the mouth, it offers a full and enveloping structure, with abundant but ripe and refined tannins. The finish is long, elegant and dry, leaving a fascinating taste persistence. Thanks to its structure and long ageing, Cichin has excellent ageing potential. It can, in fact, evolve in the bottle for more than 15-20 years, developing more complex and refined nuances.

      The Ada Nada winery is located in the heart of the Langhe, in Treiso. Founded in 1919 by Carlo Nada in Rombone, in the commune of Barbaresco, the company has gone through several generations, each of which has contributed to enriching and growing this fine family business. With the third generation, led by the oenologist Gian Carlo Nada and his wife Ada, the company went through an important phase of expansion and modernisation, consolidating its name on the Italian and international wine scene. Today, after Gian Carlo's untimely death in 2012, Elvio, together with his wife Anna Lisa and supported by oenologist Ivon Picollo, continues to carry on the Nada family's mission, producing wines that reflect the beauty and complexity of the Langhe territory. The estate covers 9 hectares of vineyards, situated at an altitude of 300 metres, with south-west exposure. We are located in the prestigious Valeirano and Rombone sub-zones, iconic areas for Barbaresco production. Most of the vineyards have an average age of about 40 years. International grape varieties such as Sauvignon and Merlot have only recently been introduced, enriching the winery's offerings without affecting the typically Piedmontese identity. The traditional grape varieties cultivated here include Nebbiolo, the undisputed protagonist of the Barbaresco appellation, as well as Barbera. Harvesting is carried out strictly by hand. Each vineyard is carefully monitored to harvest only the best bunches, selected according to specific parameters that guarantee maximum expression of the terroir. In the cellar, Ada Nada's approach is centred on respect for the grapes and appreciation of the work done in the vineyard. The cellar, housed in an 18th century farmhouse, is equipped with 3000-litre oak barrels for ageing Barbaresco and barriques for wines such as Barbera Superiore and Langhe Rosso. The total production is around 50,000 bottles, half of which are reserved for Barbaresco, the flagship wine of the winery.
