Valtellina Superiore DOCG, this interesting wine produced by Triacca is the son of the Lombardy winery. The Grumello sub-zone, between the municipalities of Sondrio and Montagna, has a vineyard extension of about 78 hectares. Its name derives from Grumello Castle, a 13th century fortress that dominates the valley. Among the Valtellina wines, Grumello is generally easier to drink and also lends itself to being drunk younger than Nebbiolo (Chiavennasca) from other areas. However, this does not detract from the fact that it is a wine with good ageing potential. In the glass it has a beautiful ruby red colour of medium intensity tending towards garnet. The bouquet is subtle and intense, with nuances reminiscent of almonds. In the mouth, it is dry and velvety. Rich in fragrances, slightly tannic, savoury and harmonious. It ideally accompanies roasts and young cheeses.
