Toscana Rosso IGT Petra is a wine that represents the excellence of Tuscan wine production. It comes from a blend of international grapes: Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Cabernet Franc. It stands out for its complexity, elegance and power. In this case, the grapes come from the estate vineyards located in San Lorenzo Alto. Here the soil is calcareous, with skeleton and medium deep, giving the wine a unique minerality. After vinification, the wine matures in wood, specifically French oak barriques, about 25% of which are new, for at least 15 months. Then, after bottling, Petra matures in glass for a further 17 months (minimum). In the glass it has a beautiful, brilliant ruby red colour. The nose offers an intense and complex bouquet of red fruits, wild blackberries, cherries and currants. These aromas are complemented by balsamic notes of Mediterranean scrub, pepper, incense and vanilla. In the mouth it is powerful and voluminous, with a rich and silky tannic texture. A wine certainly to be paired with meat dishes of great structure, such as roasts, braised meats and game. It also goes well with mature cheeses and first courses with meat sauces.
