Nodidivino srl- Localita Caldari Stazione S.N.C- 66026 Ortona,Chieti
A typical rosé. A fine local wine. All this is Cerasuolo d'Abruzzo DOC from the so-called Linea Varietale di Nododivino. A wine that embodies the very essence of the Abruzzo winemaking tradition. The company is based in Ortona, in the province of Chieti. Here the soil is stratified calcareous clay. The company's Montepulciano vineyards, with good south-westerly exposure, are at an altitude of 200 metres above sea level and are trained using the traditional Abruzzese pergola method. This ancient form of cultivation allows for better exposure to the sun and natural protection of the bunches, contributing to the quality of the grapes. Made from 100% Montepulciano grapes, this variety, originally from central Italy, is known for its versatility and ability to produce both robust red wines and fresh, fruity rosés. Its thick skin, rich in anthocyanins, allows the characteristic cherry colour of Cerasuolo to be obtained with a short maceration. Once in the cellar, the grapes are transported through a tunnel saturated with CO? to prevent the oxidation of aromatic precursors. This preserves the aromatic integrity of the grapes, guaranteeing a high quality final product. In the glass this Cerasuolo has a pale cherry pink colour, characterised by a remarkable brilliance. On the nose there are hints of fresh fruit, with predominant notes of cherry intertwined with nuances of dates and balsamic hints. Finally, in the mouth, the wine offers a pleasant delicacy, with a marked fruity component and a savoury note that enhances its overall harmony. Conceived to be drunk young, this Cerasuolo d'Abruzzo goes well with fish and shellfish dishes. It is also ideal as an aperitif, accompanying light appetisers and fresh cheeses.
The name is a nice play on words. But Nododivino is above all an interesting winery located in Ortona, on the Adriatic coast of Abruzzo. A company that stands out for its dedication to producing high quality wines that reflect the rich winemaking tradition of the region. The area is characterised by a combination of rolling hills and coastline, offering a microclimate ideal for viticulture. The sea breezes help keep the vines healthy, while the calcareous-clay soil nourishes the plants, giving the local wines a distinct minerality. Nododivino makes the most of these conditions, cultivating native vines such as Montepulciano and Trebbiano d'Abruzzo, using sustainable agricultural practices that respect the environment and enhance local biodiversity.
