Another great wine from the territory. A Lacrima di Morro d'Alba, a pure-blooded Marche wine, produced from pure Lacrima grapes by Azienda Mancinelli. Optimally exposed vineyards guarantee perfect ripening of the grapes, which are harvested by hand, selecting only the best bunches. After the harvest, the grapes are quickly brought to the cellar to be processed within a few hours. Vinification is traditional, with a short fermentation in contact with the skins for about 2 or 3 days. The temperature of the vats is then lowered and the classic white vinification is carried out. Maturation in steel vats does not alter the richness of the original varietal, which thus has the opportunity to reveal its full potential. Ruby red with pronounced purple hues, the nose is astonishing for its evident notes of roses and violets, accompanied by hints of berries that are still well ripe. In the mouth it is dry, of medium freshness, with tannins that are present but not intrusive. Intense and with good persistence, it is a wine that requires an important pairing. Excellent with game or cured meats, it can also accompany fish soups with a strong flavour.
Mancinelli's objective has always been the search for quality. But also the exaltation of the typicality of the products, through constant care of its vineyards, a careful selection in the field and, above all, the updating of the transformation techniques in the cellar. We are located on the gentle hills of Morro d'Alba, about 10 kilometres from the sea, in the province of Ancona. Here Stefano Mancinelli and his family cultivate vineyards and olive groves, in a particularly suitable area of the Marche hinterland. It has a total of about 60 hectares, 25 of which are planted with vineyards specialising in the production of DOC wines, Lacrima di Morro d'Alba and Verdicchio dei Castelli di Jesi Classico.
