In Spain it is called Garnacha. In France it is called Grenache. It is in fact the father of our Sardinian Cannonau and of the red Tocai dei Colli Berici. In France, Grenache is widespread in the southern Rhône Valley, where together with Syrah and Mourvedre it gives life to the classic blend called GSM and is the main grape variety in Chateauneuf-du-Pape wine. An extremely versatile grape variety, Garnacha is used to produce wines of very different styles. In Spain, too, it is used as the basis of blends with other international grape varieties, or, as in this case, it is used alone. Garnacha is the second largest black grape variety in Spain, surpassed only by Tempranillo. El Circo di Grandes Vinos has an impenetrable garnet red colour with intense aromas reminiscent of wild berries and spicy notes of freshly grated pepper. Important and rewarding from the first taste, this Spanish red enjoys perfect balance and a pleasantly fruity finish. Savoury first courses and medium-aged cheeses are its ideal accompaniments.

These are the numbers of Grandes Vinos, an interesting Spanish reality from the region of Cariñena, the land that gives its name to a grape, as the home page of the site states. Talking about Grandes Vinos necessarily means talking about a unique land, tradition, sun, rain, hard work and dedication. But, above all, Grandes Vinos means passion. Passion for wine and everything that surrounds it. The winery was founded more than half a century ago, between 1950 and 1967, when winegrowers from various municipalities in the Cariñena district formed several cooperatives which, a few years later, in 1997, merged into a single large entity capable of taking the good wines of the region to every corner of the world.
