    Champagne "Grand Cordon" Rosé Brut
  • It is said, "embodying a passionate personality, Mumm Grand Cordon Rosé expresses its intense, fruity character with rich aromas of berries, typical of the Pinot Noir grape variety grown in Maison Mumm's legendary vineyards in the Champagne region of France." To balance the expressive power of Pinot Noir, then, there is also an addition of Chardonnay and Meunier in the cuvée. The color, on the other hand, is given by the addition of a portion of red wine, which, as it should be, gives intensity and notes of berries and spices to this elegant blend. A light, intense and fresh Rosé Brut Champagne, this bubbly is queen of the evening. Intense and intriguing, it can be enjoyed on its own or paired with modern, creative fish or white meat dishes. In the glass, it is a delicate pale color. Salmon pink, with orange flashes. Animated by the incessant movement of tiny bubbles. The nose is tantalizing and intense. But mostly elegant, with its notes of small caramelized fruits, hints of strawberry and red currant, with a hint of sweet spices. In the mouth it is lively and fresh. Well-structured, it is especially appreciated for its nice long finish, reminiscent of the sweetness of red fruits.

The history of Maison Mumm is long and fascinating. The official founding dates back to 1827, but the connection between the Mumm family and the world of wine goes back much further. As early as 1761, in fact, the family had started a wine production and trading business in Cologne, Germany, under the name "P. A. Mumm," named after the owner Peter Arnold Mumm. The company owned extensive vineyards in the Rhine region, where it produced its wines. At the beginning of the 19th century, Peter Arnold's three heirs, Gottlieb, Jacobus and Philipp recognizing the commercial potential of the extraordinary sparkling wines produced in the Champagne region of France, and thanks to the good relations between Germany and France at the time, made the bold decision to establish a new branch of the family business right in Reims, with the cooperation of a local representative. Today the vineyards owned by the Maison cover nearly 218 hectares. Pinot Noir dominates, with Chardonnay, especially in the Côte des Blancs, and Meunier, especially in the Vallée de la Marne. Of these, 160 hectares are classified as Grand Cru, located in eight historic villages whose grapes express all the authenticity of the best terroirs in the Champagne region: A?, Bouzy, Ambonnay, Verzy, Verzenay, Mailly, Avize e Cramant.
