      Champagne Tornay Rosé Premier Cru
    • The Montagne de Reims actually consists of a chain of hills, located in the Champagne region. This area is famous for the production of high quality wines, and the village of Bouzy in particular is one of the key places within this area. It is an amazing geological treasure trove of chalk, sand, clays and limestone. Chalk, in particular, plays a key role in the cultivation of grapes and in the village of Bouzy, it is a distinctive feature. Champagne Tornay offers this Rosé Premier Cru, 10% Pinot Noir and 90% Chardonnay. The base wines are vinified in thermoregulated stainless steel vats. Then, after the creation of the cuvée, the wine is bottled and sent to the delicate process of sparkling according to the classic method. This is followed by an ageing period of at least 3 years in contact with the yeasts, at the end of which disgorgement and dosage takes place, i.e. the addition of a small quantity of sugar. In this case, 8 grams per litre. As soon as it is poured, this Champagne rosé is a beautiful salmon colour of medium intensity. The bubbles are very fine and form thin chains that rise towards the surface of the wine. The nose reveals a wine characterised by fresh fruity notes, with hints of candied citrus fruits and bread crust. In the mouth, it is round and soft, with excellent balance. There is a perfect correspondence with what was previously perceived on the nose, in which aromas of pink grapefruit and orange peel also emerge. The finish is soft and of good length. A Champagne with a pleasantly gastronomic character, it goes well with first and second courses based on fish, but also with white meats and fresh cheeses.

The Tornay-Hutasse estate is located in Bouzy, in the heart of the Montagne de Reims area of Champagne. Classified as a Grand Cru, the village of Bouzy is renowned not only for its famous bubbly wine, but also for the quality of its red wines. Today, the estate is run with passion and expertise by Nathalie Tornay, together with Rudy Hutasse. Today, the estate has a vineyard of around 21 hectares, spread over the most prestigious crus in Champagne. To guarantee the quality of the products, only grapes from terroirs classified as 'Premier Cru' and 'Grand Cru' are selected.
