The fruity part tends more towards yellow and exotic fruits but also delicate citrus notes. In the mouth it is savoury, fresh and long.

  • It is called Gorgona and is one of the jewels of the Frescobaldi family. An organic wine, it was born on the island of the same name in the Tuscan Archipelago. Gorgona, for those who do not know, is a unique place. It is, in fact, an island-penitentiary surrounded by sea, with a mild climate and lush Mediterranean vegetation. The vineyards extend over just two hectares of land, in a natural amphitheatre, protected from the winds and kissed by the sun. And it is in this unique context that a social project of great value comes to life, the result of the collaboration between Frescobaldi and the Gorgona Prison Institute: an opportunity for redemption through work in the vineyard, under the expert guidance of the historic winery's oenologists and agronomists. The wine is made from two native varieties: Vermentino and Ansonica. The former, with its natural freshness and sapidity, brings to the wine the brackish and mineral notes that evoke the sea. The Ansonica, for its part, gives structure, body and delicate floral notes. Brilliant straw yellow in colour, enriched by golden reflections. The Gorgona nose reveals a complex and enveloping bouquet, with Mediterranean notes of helichrysum, savory and rosemary mingling with floral hints of broom and chamomile. Fruity notes of yellow peach, exotic fruits and citrus complete the picture, making this white intriguing and refined. In the mouth, then, it is savoury, fresh and endowed with remarkable persistence. Its lively acidity and decisive minerality provide a long and pleasant finish, perfectly consistent with the olfactory sensations. Perfect with seafood dishes, excellent with raw fish, tuna tartare, shellfish and seafood first courses. Try it also with white meats and fresh cheeses.
