From an accurate vinification of Granaccia grapes, the result of the recovery work of ancient Ligurian vineyards. The wine has a ruby red colour with beautiful violet reflections. The nose reveals intense aromas of red fruit, from black currant to strawberry, well integrated with hints of sweet spices. In the mouth it is dry, full and persistent, thanks to the subtle spicy streak that returns evident. The tannins are soft and provide good concentration. On the whole it is well balanced, thanks also to a pleasant natural acidity. A perfect wine for those who want an unusual aperitif and are not satisfied with the usual glass. Excellent in combination with all cheeses, both fresh and slightly aged.
Durin is a small family-run farm with a long history. It is located in Ortovero, in the province of Savona and was founded in 1978 by Antonio Basso, the third generation of winemakers in his family. The first vineyards of the company date back to the twenties and today extend over 17 hectares, mostly terraced, in Valle Arroscia. The main autochthonous varieties of Liguria di Ponente are cultivated, thanks to a very particular microclimate, influenced by the hills and the sea which is only 7 kilometres away. In the winery, tradition and innovation happily coexist. So next to the traditional Ligurian wines there are other very special and interesting ones.
