A Mattetta, DOC Riviera Ligure di Ponente Superiore, is a white wine proposed by Durin that comes from the processing of 100% Pigato grapes. These, in particular, are harvested in old vineyards owned by the company and located in Ortovero, at 'Lignolo'. They are the oldest in the village, the best-settled and produce grapes capable of producing wines of great concentration. This Pigato Superiore is dedicated to little Angelica, A Matetta, the youngest of the Durin family's three children. Matured for 3 months in French oak tonneaux and 5 months in the bottle, this Pigato presents itself in the glass with a beautiful limpid appearance and a golden yellow colour. On the nose, however, this wine reveals itself to be persistent, fine and harmonious, with hints of bitter orange, bay leaf, golden apple, slight woodiness and, at the end, salty nuances. In the mouth, it is dry, savoury and fresh. Try it, in particular, with a good baked fish or a traditional fish soup. Also interesting is the pairing with medium-aged cheeses and even with simple desserts, without creams or jams.
