      "Cenerentola" Orcia DOC 2019
    • In the famous fairy tale, the beautiful Cinderella struggles to get herself noticed by her noble Prince. In the same way, the "young" Orcia DOC appellationis called upon to perform a very arduous task in order to gain visibility, squeezed as it is between its two big sisters, the DOCGs of Brunello and Nobile. And yet, in its brief history, which began on Valentine's Day in 2000, Orcia DOC has already had the opportunity to obtain - or rather to give - great satisfaction. On the label of this Cenerentola, there is a faceless woman descending a staircase, at night, in the Tuscan hills. She represents any woman who accepts challenges and above all wants to love. Produced by Donatella Cinelli Colombini at Fattoria del Colle, in the high hills of southern Tuscany, this wine is the child of two indigenous grape varieties: Sangiovese, the undisputed king of Tuscany, and Foglia Tonda, a grape variety abandoned for over a century. A very rare grape variety, in total there are less than twenty hectares of this variety, it produces powerful wines and for this reason it is the ideal companion for Sangiovese. Together they create a unique wine, different from all the others but with absolutely Tuscan characteristics.

There are women destined to make a difference. One of these is undoubtedly Donatella Cinelli Colombini. A woman of wine, a successful entrepreneur and in some respects the very icon of the most beautiful and noble Tuscany. One that enjoys a long history that is lost in the centuries, made up of great families, great estates and above all excellent wines. In short, the Tuscany that every good wine lover likes. The Donatella Cinelli Colombini Winery, founded in 1998, has two estates: Fattoria del Colle in Trequanda, reacquired in the early 20th century after three hundred years, and Casato Prime Donne in Montalcino, used by Donatella's ancestors for hunting and to bring brides on their honeymoons, and which today can count on an entirely female staff.
