      Soave Classico DOC 2023
    • This is proposed by Suavia, a fine Veronese reality. It is a Soave Classico DOC, produced exclusively from Garganega grapes. A wine that best expresses the characteristics of the volcanic hills of the Soave Classico zone. First produced in 1983, this Soave, vintage after vintage, has always proved capable of surprising the most expert palates, thanks to its fine minerality. In this case, the grapes used by Suavia to produce this white wine come from vineyards located in the northern part of the Soave Classico district, spread over several hillsides with an average altitude of 300 metres. The variety of sun exposures and the different soil textures create an ideal environment for growing Garganega. The average age of the vines is at least 40 years. A factor that contributes to the complexity and aromatic depth of the wine. Harvesting is carried out manually from mid-September. Alcoholic fermentation takes place in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks and, only in some vintages, part of the wine also undergoes malolactic fermentation, giving it softness and roundness. The wine then matures for at least 5 months on its fine lees before undergoing a light filtration and bottling. As a final step, the wine rests for a few more weeks in the cellar before being released for sale. Straw yellow in colour with green reflections, a sign of its lively freshness, the nose reveals fragrances of white fruits and flowers, such as green apple and jasmine, enriched by delicate vegetal and mineral notes reminiscent of the volcanic terrain. In the mouth it is juicy and balanced, with a pleasant savoury trail that combines well with the natural freshness and well-integrated softness. The finish is dry and persistent. Perfect as an aperitif, this Soave is ideal with hors d'oeuvres, vegetable dishes and fish.

Suavia's is a beautiful story of family and territory. Much more than a simple winery, Suavia is a journey through the volcanic hills of Soave, an area rich in history and character. Here, among the remains of the ancient castle and the picturesque hills that embrace the village of Fittà, the Tessari family has linked its life with that of the land since 1800. It is no coincidence that Suavia is the ancient toponym of the village of Soave. In 1982, Giovanni Tessari and Rosetta Buratto, aware of the extraordinary potential of their land, decided to found Suavia to dedicate themselves to the production of their own wine, thus giving life to a family project that continues today thanks to their three daughters: Meri, Valentina and Alessandra. The Tessari sisters carry on the legacy left by their parents with passion, cultivating the 30 hectares of vineyards located in the heart of the Classic area of the Soave denomination. The company vineyards exclusively cultivate two indigenous grape varieties: Garganega and Trebbiano di Soave. The oldest vines, planted by grandparents, are over seventy years old and are a precious testimony to a winemaking tradition that deserves to be handed down.
