    CHARACTERISTICS
    • TypeVino bianco fermo
    • Location Veneto
    • Years of ageing

      Produced in Italy

    • Grapes 100% Garganega
    • Sensations A vivid, spicy expression from slightly raisined Garganega grapes. Medium-bodied. I like the bright character, with peach and maple syrup on the palate and a pungent, salty honey finish. Very intense. Long life to this easy-drinking wine.
    • Vinification The hand-picked and hand-selected grapes are left to dry for at least 40 days in large, ventilated rooms to reduce the percentage of water and concentrate the sugars contained in the grapes. After crushing and destemming, a short cold maceration of the marc follows. Part of the must is fermented in oak barrels; the subsequent ageing of the whole wine takes place 'sur lie' for 6-7 months to add consistency, complexity and intensity. After bottling, the wine is aged for at least 3 months.

      "Marani" Bianco Veronese IGT 2023
    • 100% Garganega. No concessions in terms of quality. Marani, in fact, is the fruit of a strict selection of grapes that come from hillside vineyards in the Soave area, north of the municipality of Colognola ai Colli. Bianco Veronese IGT, the perfectly ripe grapes are harvested and selected by hand, then placed in drying lofts where they are dried for at least 40 days, thus favouring an important reduction in the percentage of water and the consequent concentration of the sugars contained in the grapes. Traditional processing with a short cold maceration of the marc, part of the must is fermented in oak barrels. At the end of vinification, all the wine is aged "sur lie". Intense golden yellow in colour, the nose recalls notes of ripe fruit and honey. In the mouth, on the other hand, it reveals a voluminous and aristocratic white. An important wine that requires a decisive pairing. Excellent with a rich risotto, it can also accompany fish recipes or medium-aged cheeses.

In 2018, the Sartori winery turned 120 years old. This fact is probably enough to understand that it is one of the most incredible realities of the Veronese territory. The story of Sartori began in 1898 when Pietro bought his first vineyard in Negrar, in the heart of Valpolicella. An "eccentric personality, but magmatic from a business point of view", as Pietro Sartori is described by his heirs, he was one of the most appreciated "restaurateurs" in the area. In fact, the Sartori trattoria was an essential address for merchants, businessmen and small industrialists in the area, to whom Pietro never failed to offer an excellent Veronese Rosso wine, as it was called at the time. Hence, first the decision to expand his business as a wine merchant, and then the decision to start producing on his own, so that good wine would never be missing from the tables of his loyal customers. Today, Sartori is a successful company with an international vocation, achieving over 80% of its turnover in more than 50 countries, in Europe, North and South America, Russia and South East Asia. In its range, proudly, the great Veronese classics: Valpolicella, Soave, Bardolino, Bardolino Chiaretto, always reinterpreted in an elegant and personalised way.
