Montalbera is one of the Piedmontese wineries most closely linked to the rebirth and enhancement of Ruché, an indigenous grape variety that in some ways resembles the noble Pinot Noir. Ruché is used in the production of various wines offered by the winery. Vinified pure or, as in this case, blended with another classic of Piedmontese viticulture, Barbera. This is how "Fuori Catalogo" was created, a wine produced with grapes harvested when slightly over-ripened and aged in steel tanks.
