    "Il Seggio" Bolgheri DOC
  • Poggio al Tesoro is the Bolgheri estate owned by the Veronese Allegrini Winery. Bolgheri Rosso Il Seggio was born here, in this fortunate land that is only a few kilometres from the sea. It is a wine that gives a pleasant sensation of freshness and intensity of taste and smell from the very first taste. It is, as is traditional in these parts, a fine example of a Bordeaux blend, that is, a blend of the grape varieties grown on the Atlantic coast in the Bordeaux region: Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot. Aged for 15 months in new and second-hand barrique barrels, this wine is a champion of smoothness, offering a pleasant enveloping and silky sip. In the glass it is a beautiful deep ruby red colour. Notes of ripe red fruit, spices and balsamic herbs on the nose. In the mouth it is well structured, thanks to its alcohol content, and absolutely pleasant. The velvety tannin leaves the mouth dry and immediately ready for another sip.

Bolgheri is still one of the most interesting and evocative areas of Tuscany, famous throughout the world for its history and its great wines, which over the years have created what we like to call the "Bolgheri style". In 2001 Marilisa Allegrini and her brother Walter, driven by the desire to measure themselves against a new project that was different from their beloved Valpolicella, immediately fell in love with this territory, its beauty and its great potential. And here they gave life to a dream and an emotion, which today is called Poggio al Tesoro and which extends for more than 70 hectares between the coast of the Tyrrhenian Sea and the last offshoots of the hills of the Colline Metalliferous. Poggio al Tesoro has become in a few years one of the most dynamic and significant realities of the Bolgheri panorama, able to distinguish itself for the excellence and originality of its wines, expression of a marked identity.
