A great international vine, a great Italian territory. What can come out of a meeting like this? Obviously a great wine. Just like this Riccionero, a Pinot Noir from Tuscany that defies convention. We are in the hills of Impruneta, in the heart of Tuscany. This is where Riccionero was born, a structured red wine capable of revealing the versatile soul of this noble grape variety. The bunches, hand-picked at the right degree of ripeness, are quickly delivered to the cellar to begin the delicate transformation phase. After destemming, the must ferments at a controlled temperature in steel tanks. The wine then matures for 18 months in second-passage oak barriques, acquiring complexity, structure and harmony. In the glass, it has a beautiful intense ruby red colour with garnet reflections that herald a wine of great character. The nose reveals a complex and elegant bouquet, where notes of ripe red fruits, sweet spices, liquorice and hints of violets stand out. An unexpected harmony that surprises and conquers. In the mouth, finally, Riccionero amazes with its structure and elegance. The sip is full and enveloping, dominated by silky tannins and a lively acidity that gives freshness and persistence. The fruity flavours evolve into spicy and toasty notes, creating a long and satisfying finish with a lingering mineral aftertaste.
