"Le Rotaie" Susumaniello Rosé Valle d'Itria IGP 2024
    • Apulia, a land of great, powerful reds and elegant rosés, able to bring peace between die-hard red wine lovers and those who love fresher, more fragrant whites. Rosé, after all, has an ancient tradition in Apulia, since it was already produced in ancient times. Rosé wines were considered a product for refined tastes. Very delicate wines, to be offered above all to the distinguished guest. Le rotaie, proposed here by i Pàstini, comes from a pink vinification of pure Susumaniello grapes, hand-picked in vineyards which are crossed, from north to south, by the local railway. In the glass it has a beautiful, delicate and elegant pink colour. Elegant is also the adjective that best describes its aromas, which are directly reminiscent of floral scents, with notes of rose and fruity strawberry. In the mouth it is soft, fresh and persistent. A wine designed to be enjoyed throughout a meal, from starters to main courses. For a simple but pleasant pairing, however, there is nothing better than a delicious pizza margherita.

Pastinum', in Latin, was the hoe. And, by direct derivation, it also indicated the land destined for vines. Pàstino, on the other hand, is an ancient and difficult art that involves planting traditional vines in stone. Today, finally, the "i Pàstini" winery, in the heart of the Itria Valley, the land of trulli, represents the last line of defence of the ancient local traditions, fortunately combined with the most modern winemaking techniques. The result is a line of wines that represents the best of Apulian oenology. To do this, the company can count on grapes from the estate's vineyards, which lie in the heart of one of the most interesting areas of the region, between the towns of Locorotondo and Martina Franca. About 12 hectares in total, managed with passion by the Carparelli family. Among the vines grown are Verdeca, Bianco d'Alessano and Minutolo. White grape varieties that confirm the ancient viticultural vocation of our long "heel".
